Meet Mikey, a lovable blue heeler cattle dog originally rescued in Texas and now available for adoption in Rhode Island and surrounding states. Mikey is about 3-4 years old and weighs 65lbs. He is fully vaccinated, neutered and a very healthy you guy If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate companion, Mikey could be your perfect buddy. This well-trained boy is great on a leash and incredibly cuddly.. Mikey tends to bond more with women or with men he takes an instant liking to. He's not destructive and is fully house-trained. Mikey will thrive in an adult-only home, as strangers make him nervous. He also needs a feline-free environment, as he’s likely to chase cats, true to his herding dog nature. He does well playing with most dogs, but at times he can be dog selective, so a meet and greet with another dog is a must. Mikey's ideal home would have a yard and an active person who enjoys activities like hiking or doing advanced training for mental stimulation and someone who enjoys the cuddles of a loving Velcro dog! He would be best suited with someone who enjoys the breed and understands herding dogs. He is super smart and food motived - he is even open to trying new foods like carrots, celery and fruits.
