Why Choose Me? Doggy-day-out update: I'd like to tell you more about my buddy, Midas ! He is about 2 years old. He was picked up by animal services after he snuck in to the landfill ? His run is one of the last on the back side of the kennels, so I think he tends to be overlooked. Yesterday was his first day out of the shelter in a while and his first time at an event. He had not been officially dog tested by shelter staff, but he behaved wonderfully! He was definitely interested in the other dogs, but he did not growl, fixate, or show stiff body language. He pulled slightly towards the other dogs, but was very easy to redirect. He is a great listener! After making the initial rounds, he laid on the ground and rested about 5 feet away from another dog, without a care. I do think with proper introductions, he'd be happy to live with another dog friend. Midas is a really smart guy. He already knew sit and was doing "down" by the end of the evening! He also walks well on his leash. He is eager to please and loves to learn. I also think he'd love to snuggle with a friend on the couch! He was giving me snuggles and asking for belly pets before we left. If you are looking for a new friend who is easy going, please consider Midas! * * * Update from off-site event: Midas was a showstopper at Oak House Distillery! This guy was so chill and well behaved! Come meet this sweet golden boy. Midas has a golden coat and smile. He'd just arrived at the shelter before I took him out but didn't hesitate to walk with me to an interaction pen. He's a friendly boy. He enjoyed pets from me, was curious about other dogs, and seems to be a well-mannered dog.
