My Story

UPDATE: Little Mia came from a puppy mill. She was turned into rescue with her sister, Nala, and Oliver.
She came very terrified of everything. She however is quickly adjusting to living the good life!
She loves attention from children and adults alike. Her favorite place is right in your lap, or carried in your arms, if you don't mind. Though 17 pounds gets heavy, fast!
At events, if people stop petting her, she runs after them, to remind them that they weren't done petting her yet!!
She is an attention sponge, and lives for being pet.
She also likes food and treats quite a bit!
She does occasionally get nervous at loud noises and new situations, but quickly adjusts. She's been to several rescue events, and has a lot of fun sucking attention and treats from everyone.
Mia is shaping up to be a very sweet dog, and will really make a loving companion.

Mia is a very sweet, timid and scared little girl. She's very affectionate, gives kisses when she feels comfortable. She always stands on her hind legs and puts her paws on you for reassurance. Mia was rescued from a puppy mill where she was kept just to produce puppies to sell to pet shops. We were told she is about 4 yrs old, but she doesn’t look 4 yrs old. Loud noises and fast movements really scare her, so I'm doing everything around her in slow motion. I think she would do best in a home without children. I think the noise that children can make would be overwhelming for her. She gets very upset if she is separated from her puppy mill friend Nala. She would be fine with a calm, laid-back dog if she is adopted separately from Nala.

All of our dogs are housebroken, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and crate trained (or working on it!) They are living in homes with foster families, not in a shelter or kennel.
