MAXWELL*

Maxwell (or Max to his friends) is a sweet, sensitive boy who has been thriving in a loving foster home. Heres what his foster said about him: Max is my little man. He came to PACC as a stray with no known history and I brought him home along with his kennelmate at the time (who has since found his own home). When he first came home, Max was the biggest scaredy cat Id ever seen- if you even looked in his direction, hed scram. Over time, Max started to open up- he began to let me leash him and take him on walks, he started taking food or treats out of my hand with a stealthy softness, and even would lean in or nudge my hand for a pet! After his original roommate was adopted, I brought home another foster and Maxwell was just happy having another buddy. He let his new friend talk him into anything! And when yet another foster dog came home, Maxwell immediately and gratefully accepted her and the two have been inseparable. Max has followed her lead too and has really started to come out of his shell. He had preferred to spend much of his time outdoors, but started to follow his new friend indoors and quickly realized he loved it. He picked up potty training like a champ too! He now welcomes full body rubs and loves sleeping curled up on his blanket by my bedside. When I come home, his tail wags give away his eagerness to greet me. Max is so gentle, sweet, and impressionable. I have 3 cats and Max has done well with them. Im currently focusing on building his trust in humans, introducing him to our doggie door, and elevating his confidence in himself. Max would probably do best in a household with older (quieter) kids or adults and another confident, gentle dog. I LOVE this boy! Max has truly blossomed with his foster, and now he needs to find a forever home with a family who sees how truly special he is. Please ask about him!!
