update 4/17: Max has found his forever home!
Update 3/19/10 from Maxwell's foster momma:
"Max is just a marshmallow. Today he's paddled around after me like my shadow and he plops for a few quick winks if I stop moving.... being used to being an "only child", sharing is not his best suit so the toy box it out of reach and toys/bones only available when crated or gated from the other dogs... I actually think Max would probably enjoy an accepting canine buddy... We're working on sit but I think Max thinks that word means to stand up 'cause that's what he does about half the time when I ask for a sit... He sure is a sweetie and wants lotsa lovin', especially if anyone else is getting loved on!...He is scheduled to have a fatty tumor removed from his hip and have a dental to clean and polish his teeth until they sparkle!
"
