Maximus

Maximus aka Max is a super sweet 12 yo neutered male Boston looking for a place to retire. Max weighs about 27 lbs and is very fit. Max was surrendered by his family, the only family he has ever known, due to unforeseen circumstances in their lives. Max would do best with a fenced yard given his poor eyesight due to cataracts and limited hearing, but this is not required if you can leash walk him and ensure he's never off leash in an unfenced yard. He needs a home where any children are 12+ years old given his physical limitations. He does not like being startled or picked up from behind. Max is good with other dogs, but needs a home without cats. Max may be 12, but he can still be active at times, enjoying both toys and naps. Max has a few toys he likes to play with, and doesn't require much “outside” time. He likes to do his business and get back near his person. Max still loves playing with toys and going for walks and will make a great addition to anyone's home. He does get very excited for short walks, and his foster home can offer advice on limiting how much he pulls on leash. Max is a super sweet loving guy. Max was never allowed on the furniture, but he sure would love to be someone's snuggle bug if you just give him a chance! Max is used to sleeping in his crate at night with the door open, and can also be crated with the door shut as needed when he needs to be home alone. Max typically stays 4-5 hours alone on some days, and has been able to be as long as 8 hrs. Max loves car rides in his crate where he feels most safe. Max will want to follow you everywhere and is an escape artist when it comes to doors, so the whole family will need to be attentive to that and ensure he's safely back from the door, or crated or gated when people go in and out. Max has not met anyone yet that he hasn’t liked, including the vet! He has made so many new friends already and loves all the new smells! Max is neutered and up to date on vaccines, and his adoption fee will be $350.
