Our volunteer who visited
Maximus Douglas gave him a big two “thumbs up.” He enthusiastically told us Max is a good-looking, well-mannered Lab who’s well trained and socialized . . . his exact words were: “He’s t a great dog!” Max is 3.5 years old and about 75 pounds. He could use a few more pounds, an enviable position for most Labs! He’s lived with several other dogs and is very fond of a senior housemate. Pleasantly active, yet a typical young Lab, Max loves all visitors young and old.
As you can tell, Max has been a well loved companion. He’s housetrained, knows his basic commands and is quite good on the leash. If you need to go out, you can leave Max alone in the house without a worry or a care. This well adjusted boy takes everything pretty much in stride, but can be silly and playful with his bath and grooming.
“I hope you’re thinking: ‘He’s the perfect boy for me!’” wags Max. “I do need to ask you to do something special for me. For some reason, while I can produce a lot of love and fun times together, I can’t produce a couple hormones all by myself. Addison’s disease it’s called. So I need a shot about once a month and a pill each day to replace the hormones to keep me feeling great*. And I need you to promise to work with your vet to keep me in tip top shape because I hear that we dogs with Addison’s live long, active and healthy lives with loving care. Oh and one more thing, stressful situations should be minimized for me -- a life of fun filled playful leisure by your side for me!”
Handsome, well trained, pleasantly active, just plain fun to be with and oh so easy to love, Max is eager to find his special place with you as a well loved and cared for family member. “Come fetch me soon!”
* Please budget about $200/month for my vet care.
