My Story

Meet Max! He was surrendered to us by his owner who is battling cancer and can no longer properly care for his dogs. Max is the most recent addition to their home, but the family has two other dogs they want to rehome to us. Max came in overdue on vet care and needed some TLC. Like most dogs, Max does well with structure and consistency and he's had that in his foster home. Max now lives with a foster mom and dad, a teen son, and multiple dogs and cats, and he does well with all of them. Overall, Max is a very sweet boy with a moderate energy level. He is independent enough not to be needy, but will also settle down to nap or cuddle with you on the couch. He is completely housebroken, doesn't chew or get into anything, and has earned free-roam privileges around the house. He loves going on walks and is currently doing two 20 to30-minute outings a day. He also enjoys playtime with toys and other dogs. Max would do well with other playful dogs in his home, or make a fine only dog - he's very adaptable. He has a roughhouse playstyle with bigger dogs but will adjust and play more conservatively with dogs his size or smaller. Like all younger dogs, Max needs his daily walks and playtime to stay calm and balanced in the home. When Max first arrived to his foster home, he was a little anxious and barky. Now that he's had time to settle in, he's so much better. His foster mom uses background noise like a TV or music and he is generally quiet. For the first week or two, they had some construction work that impacted the noise level in the home, but now that he's settled in, he was napping the last time the workers were there. He sleeps in a puppy pen at night with some quiet music in the background and goes all night without a peep. We think Max would do best in a quiet home environment vs. the city or condo home. While we have not seen him around young kids, we have seen him around teens and he's met several guests and seems pretty comfortable around new people. His foster family has grown very fond of him and hopes he will find a wonderful forever home. If you want to learn more about Max, apply today. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster and want to learn more, please go to https://foster.worthydog.org and fill out an application.
