Meet MAX! He is a medium-sized tan shepherd mix and weighs in at about 32 lbs. He is a 10 month-old puppy with a lot of spirit towards life! When I met Max, he was just another one of the 'sick' dogs at PACC and was on their rescue list to be eventually put down. My heart was overwhelmed with his friendliness, so I convinced my roommate to agree upon fostering him with me. Since then, things have been MUCH better for Max! He is really the most wonderful little companion anyone could ask for. With his new lease on life, he takes every opportunity to learn and is always eager to make people happy. He was really skinny when we got him from PACC, but has put on some weight since then. He LOVES to EAT! Nothing makes him more excited... well except when you bring out the leash! :)
He knows how to 'shake' and 'sit' at command. Max is also kennel trained and does best if left in a kennel while left at home. He goes into the kennel on his own from anywhere around the house at the command 'Bed'. He still needs some work on the leash, but has gotten a million times better since he came into my life. Milk Bones are his favorite snack and the regular ol' rawhide bones as well. Max's only issue is growling around food, but he never acts on it in an aggressive way. I believe this comes from his time at the pound and days as a stray. Aside from food, Max is very playful and friendly around others dogs especially the other 3 that are in my home. They love Max and will be sad to see him go as much as I will. I've never seen Max's behavior around cats, so his reaction is unknown to me although I can say he has a very curious nature. Max needs AT LEAST 5 foot fencing in the backyard as he has jumped over my gate once.
