Update: Thank you and congratulations Sara for giving our beautiful Max a forever home!!!
Update 12/5/2007: Max will need to be supervised anytime he is around livestock. He does fine with the horses as long as they do not run! I was contacted by the breeder recently and it seems that Max is from the Johnson's line of working dogs in Florida. Originally used for bull baiting and hunting feral hogs. Max will make a great working dog- he has all the instincts and natural skills needed. He is amazingly smart and very loving with my kids and the other dogs.

'My name is Max!! I am only about a year old.. I am a purebred American Bulldog with papers!! My foster mom says I am a super dog!! My owners didn't want me anymore because I got bored and chewed up their hoses in the backyard.. But, I am still just a pup and needed something to do.. I am registered as GTO in the stud dog files with the National Kennel Club (but I am now neutered).. My mom is Daisy out of Boneyard Kennels and my dad is Mendoza's Scrappy. I am not the Johnsons type Bulldog-- I think I am more of a hybrid type-i am a very lean fun athletic machine.. I weigh about 70 lbs right now but I haven't filled out yet.. I should probably start putting on more weight by 2 years old.. Well I hope to meet you soon!!'

Max is in a pack of about 13 other dogs and does super.. He has already learned to stay, sit (hand signal and the word), and is learning to 'leave it'... He is one smart boy!!! I would love to keep him but I couldn't take in anymore if I did.. This dog has a great pedigree and would make somebody a wonderful pet!!
Max's adoption fee is $300.. This will include his neuter, microchip, heartworm test, training DVD, 1 month supply of Pedigree dog food, and his collar with a 3 year rabies..
