Marmaduke~PENDING

5/17/09:  We know where the "Great" in Great Dane comes from since we met this big lush of a dog... The only thing we are confused about is how we could have ended up with him. A local dog warden found him wandering the countryside as a stray, she knew that a dog of his size would soon be easily missed and reclaimed since, how could you not know he was missing? But, NO family ever came or even called to see if he was found! This scenario happens all the time in Oswego County, unfortunately.  Duke was very thin and timid when she first took him in so he was either loose for quite some time or perhaps not treated the best in his "former life".  Regardless, the dog warden knew that he was just to special to be euthanized without getting a chance at a new life so she asked All Creatures.This wonderful boy that his foster dad calls Marmaduke, knows how to sit, stay and fetch. He is well behaved but young so his attention span does not match his size, but he does try his best. He gets along with other dogs, cats and even human children but because of his large clumsy self, we highly recommend that he goes to a family with older children (if any at all) with previous dog experience.  Duke has an appointment to be examined and neutered soon, but we are currently taking applications so that we can have a home lined up for this truely deserving boy.  We would like him to go to a place with large yard rather than an apartment due to his very large size.  An adoption donation of $200 is being asked to cover the cost of his exam, vaccines, defleaing/deworming, heartworm testing and prevention as well as neuter.  For more info, please email [email protected].  Thank you!

Adoptions limited to a 500 mile radius of Pulaski, NY and pets must be viewed in person by all family members prior to adoption; animals will not be shipped to their new homes.
