Good in a home with
Manny is a handsome tricolor field type setter. He is 3-4 years young and will weigh about 48 lbs when at his proper weight. Other than being a few pounds underweight, Manny came into rescue in good condition. Typical of his breed in stature and temperament, Manny is a friendly, charming and happy boy. Manny has plenty of energy and he will need an active human and a good size yard where he can really stretch out to run and play. He’s one of those graceful setters when he runs and he springs, bounces and glides as he makes his way around the yard. He is lean, fit, and agile. Manny likes playing with balls and will probably start playing with toys soon. He does want to play with the other dogs in the home and is playful with people too. He is very birdy so he will need to be trained and taught a proper recall for his own safety. Like most English Setters his preference is to be wherever his humans are, especially living in the home as a family member where he can snuggle up with you or sleep by your feet. If he is able to get plenty of exercise he calms down quickly when he is in the house. He knows sit and is attentive and obedient to verbal corrections. Manny is in a foster home where he gets along with the resident dogs and cats and is learning about the good life as a part of a family. He shows no significant signs of previous abuse and he’s looking for a best friend to love him. He would like another dog to run and play with; but he would also do fine as an only dog with an active human companion who is around a lot and wants to take him places. He is confident and could be an alpha dog in the right pack. A&B is based in PA. The Petfinders page is maintained by a volunteer in GA.
