My Story

Makena He is the bigger of the two and is very good boy! He is very timid at first and gets frightened around loud noises new people but given a few minute he will calm down and crawl into your lap for a good cuddle. He loves to be bundled up and will snuggle for hours if you let him! He is a very quick learner and already has great manners. He sits and waits for his food and knows “sit” and “no” so far. He is doing really well with house training and sleeps through the night in his kennel. He does like to chew on things so you have to keep an eye on shoes, socks, and electric cables but he will stop as soon as you tell him to, often only needing one quiet word. He gets along just fine with other dogs given the opportunity to warm up more slowly. He loves food and will gobble as much as he can as fast as he can and then go looking for more. He will even push his foster siblings out of the way to get theirs, so you have keep an eye at meal times but he is getting better. As a result though, he is gaining weight very well and is on his way to a healthy puppy size! He also loves to play with stuffed toys and will tug as long as you let him. He is a very smart and very sweet little guy who just wants to be loved! br>Adoption Application
NEW HOPE DOG RESCUE is not a shelter. Our dogs are placed in loving foster homes. WE NEED FOSTER HOMES TO HELP MORE DOGS - CONTACT US TODAY!!!

Definitions:

Pending - means that we are working through the adoption process with the 1st applicant. We usually don't add the pending until we are pretty sure the adoption will go through (like at the home visit stage)

On Trial or Trial Visit - means that the dog is in their new home for up to 2 weeks before the adopters need to commit to keeping the dog. We want to make sure that everyone is happy with the new living arrangements! We allow this option for everyone except very long distance adoptions (too far to drive).

Adopted - you know!! A happy ending for a homeless dog. We try to let everyone know when we have the final word. Within about 24 hours, the dog's bio will be moved to our happy tails section!
