Maizie

Hi, my name is Maizie, and I'm about 2 years old. I'm good with kids, cats and other dogs. The only thing is, I'm kinda afraid of people until I've gotten to know them. I heard them say that I get that, along with my ability to be very loyal to those I love, from the shepherd side of the family -- or that maybe I have some border collie in me. I know my adoption counselors pretty well now, and I'm happy to give them kisses when I am with them but it took a couple of meetings for me to trust them. Even though it took a while, the counselors could see my gentle soul and new I am worth the effort. It is kind of scary getting into strange cars (though I love a good car ride) to get caught up on all my vet care, getting things stuck in me that they say won't hurt much at all (LIES, I TELL YOU, LIES)...after all, I haven't been out very much. I'm looking for a new home, and someone who will love me for who I am...loving, playful, gentle and loyal, who is willing to help me learn that the world is full of wonder so I can stop being frightened by all these things I haven't seen before.
