My Story

Maisey is a female basset from the shelter in Berrien County. Her owners turned her in because she kept escaping her fenced yard. The fact is, she was being used for breeding and she missed being with her human family. Since being in foster care Maisy has made no attempts to leave her foster family. She's around 3 1/2 years old and is a very beautiful, tri-colored girl. Her owner didn't take very good care of Maisey because she hasn't had shots, tested positive for heartworms, and was not spayed. She'd had at least two litters of pups and was being used as a puppy-maker. Maisey gets along fine with other dogs and is submissive and sweet. She enjoys kids and even likes cats. She is a little shy and clingy at first, but warms up quickly. Maisy loves to snuggle and climb in your lap. She enjoys napping is cozy places and enjoys her kennel for some quiet time. She is housetrained with a dog door and is not destructive at all. Maisey has completed treatment for heartworms and is now available for adoption. This little girl will make a great companion for a lucky family. For more photos and for information on adopting this dog, please visit http://www.bhrg.org.
