Mending Souls has been helping a local family with a big case involving 2 accidental litters. Since March we have been vetting the 14 pups & slowly they all found placement. Originally the owner did intend to keep her mama dogs & the father of the pups, as she rescued each dog from homelessness & never wanted to rehome them. However a terrible incident of domestic violence has caused her to seek out options in rehoming the dogs. Maggie is a medium/large mixed breed (apx 45lbs) believed to be around 2yrs old & possibly have some border collie and dutch shepherd in her. She was rescued from the woods along with her sister and the kind lady that brought them in spent weeks earning their trust. Maggie isnt a skittish scaredy dog anymore, but she may not trust a stranger right away & likely will take some time to warm up in her new home. The sister is mostly brindle and looks very much like a dutch shepherd. The pups also resembled dutch & malinois dogs. Maggie is brindle too but she has white on her & a slightly smaller head, which gives her a different look & leads us to believe the mix of border collie. *Medical* We have given Maggie a standard distemper vaccine & deworming. She has not seen a vet yet. There will be an apt set in Palm Bay to receive her rabies vaccine, heartworm test, and spay procedure. Adopting person(s) must be prepared to attend this apt. Her adoption fee will be $200 just to cover some of the medical costs. We are currently open for meet & greets with this girl!
