My Story

Courtesy Posting: SAN FRANCISCO/N CAL- “MAGGIE" AFFECTIONATE 50 lb CHOW/GOLDEN RETR LOOKING X IN NEED OF A LOVING, FOREVER HOME, OWNER IS ILL AND NEEDS TO REHOME - WHO CAN HELP? PLS CONTACT ROBIN FOR HELP OR WITH INTEREST. Please help us find a loving home for sweet Maggie, a beautiful chow mix (possibly with some golden retriever) who is filled with love and affection as described by her owner. She was adopted as a rescue several years ago and is now believed to be approximately 6 years young and weighs a perfect size of 50 lbs. Unfortunately, due to her owner’s health and also having to move into a smaller setting, we are desperately seeking a new home where Maggie will thrive. Per her owner, “she loves being outside in the yard / beach / dog park and she's curious to explore. When left alone during the day she doesn't cause any trouble and she's not a barker. She's pretty low energy and sleeps most of the day. She's also good on a leash on a short quiet hike. She also loves car rides! “ Maggie has been dog friendly at parks, and is up-to-date with all her vaccinations, spayed, potty trained, and although initially wary of strangers, she quickly warms up given some time and space. Maggie used to live with another dog she adored, but in time as the dog became older, the owner reported Maggie became jealous and dominant of that dog, and did go after her. Therefore, we feel Maggie will do best as an only dog inside a home." Additionally, with Maggie now living in a small and urban environment, the owner also explained this has caused her some stress when walked on the bustling streets of San Francisco. She is particularly anxious with the noise and activity, and therefore would do best in a quieter home, ideally with a yard. The owner has placed her on anti anxiety meds which are helping however. According to her owner, Maggie is a low-maintenance dog and an awesome companion, perfect for someone who enjoys quiet, peaceful times at home. We have many videos of her being pet, walked and loved, and will be posting some of these and additional pictures on her facebook post: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10165465694578125&id=783968124 If you may be interested in adopting Maggie, or fostering to adopt, please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to assist with her placement asap. A virtual homecheck, vet reference, application and $50 rehoming fee will be required before approving any homes. Chow experience preferred but not required. In person adoption preferred.
