Maggie

Maggie is a wonderful Aussie, she was found living in a storm drain last winter where a family fed her for months before catching her and bringing her into Heavenly Pet. She was a very shy, unsocialized dog, but that didn't stop her from being sweet and loving. She would just lay down and we carried her wherever she needed to go. She was crated last winter at night and out during the day if it wasn't too cold. She became very good friends with Festus our other Brindle Aussie who looks like her twin. They are quite similar and enjoy being together, they especially like to go off on the property swimming. She's could be trained as a house dog but that would really require someone who was willing to put a lot of time into training and working with her. Otherwise she would be good in a country home, on an acreage as an indoor/outdoor dog with access to a good shelter for cold months. She does like coming indoors and sleeping in her kennel with Festus. We would like to adopt her with Festus who she has become very close to. They spent the whole winter together in one kennel inside the shelter not because we wanted them to but because they insisted on being together! She is fine with cats and other dogs and children. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body, is very submissive, very sweet dog. She is very quiet indoors but barks quite a lot when outside in a fenced area.
