Maggie

Maggie is a beautiful 54 lb Collie mix, possibly mixed with Borzoi (a Sighthound breed like the Greyhound, Saluki, Afghan hound, etc.) This photo does not adequately show her physical beauty, and her foster mom was unable to capture her with her tail in its typical upward circle. At 4 yrs of age, Maggie was dumped in a high-kill shelter in rural Kentucky. Her calloused owners did not even tell the shelter personnel what her name WAS. She seems to like the name Maggie but likes people so well that she probably would respond just as well to any name her adoptor wants to call her. Although she had been in the shelter for 3 wks with no interest from anyone, she was not put on a website until they were about to end her time in the physical plane. She appears to be completely housetrained. Maggie uses her toes like fingers on a hand--holding rawhide chews between the first and second toes of her RIGHT hand. Her foster mom has never seen a dog do that. Maggie is very affectionate and devoted to being right with her human even in preference to the many other dogs in the foster home ranging from 5 to 75 lbs. She is very well mannered in the house and is good with both dogs and cats; in fact, likes to sniff nose to nose with any trusting cat and she seems to absolutely adore kittens! Another cute thing she does is drink the water as it is being poured from a bucket into the dog's water dishes--and she probably would do the same thing with water running from a hose. If her human is inside, she wants to be inside and vice versa. Maggie has incredible steady and long lasting eye contact. SHE IS A REAL WINNER! Maggie has already been spayed, is up to date on vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworms and is on heartworm preventative.
