Hi I'm Maddy, I'm a six to seven year old female cocker spaniel, I am spayed, micro-chipped, updated on my vaccinations. PLEASE NO CHILDREN UNDER 12 History: Rescued from Simpson County Animal Shelter, 1 May 2009. Heartworm positive, Treated for heartworm disease with doxycycline pre and post immiticide. Immiticide given 5/18/-5/19/09. Crate rest for 8 weeks. Retested in September and was negative on direct blood smear and in October, negative for heartworm antigen. Does have a small cherry eye in right eye which is not emergent for treatment. This dog needs to be on heartworm medication monthly throughout the year as well as flea and tick prevention. We use Triheart for HW prevention and Frontline for fleas and ticks. Grooming: I am a cocker spaniel and my grooming is high maintenance and groomer' costs about $45.00 every 5-6 weeks. I need frequent brushing to remove matts, ear care, eye care and oral dental health care. Nutrition: please feed me a corn free, wheat free, soy and gluten free dog food with no by products or chemical preservatives. No grocery brand pet foods or Walmart pet foods. I currently eat Natural Balance Lamb, Brown Rice or Venison and Sweet Potato. My ears, skin and coat are soft and healthy right now. About me: I like to go for walks and play in the sunshine. I like to chase squirrels! I'm very loving once I learn to trust you. I was not treated well in my former home and dumped. Possible abusive situation but we are not sure.
