Maddie was recently brought to a local shelter after she was found running around the streets with another doggie companion. Her foster mom couldn't believe how nice, sweet girl like this ended up on the streets. She was a favorite of one of the shelter workers, who just loved taking Maddie for walks. When all the other dogs were barking, Maddie just sat quietly and patiently in her kennel, with her cute little nose sticking out, hoping someone would notice her. As soon as her foster mom and dad saw her, and took one look at that adorable face, they knew this was not the place for her. When they put her in the car to go home, she wiggled with such excitement, because she knew she was being rescued. We think that Maddie is part lab, although she is not big and stocky like a typical labrador, mixed with possibly Curly Coated Retriever or American Water Spaniel, because she has a cute combination of curly, wavy hair on her back and tail. She is all black with a little white splash on her chest, and we think she is totally adorable!!
Maddie is truly a delightful combination of sweet and playful. She is about 50 lbs, and approximately 3-4 years old. She is wonderful with people of all sizes. She is great with other dogs, and is just an all around friendly and affectionate dog, who just loves to get back scratches and belly rubs!! She likes to play and romp with the other dogs outside, but is mellow and calm inside, and likes to be in whatever room her foster family is.
She is housetrained, up to date on her shots, and is already spayed. She is also crate trained, but we think she would be just fine having free roam of the house. She already knows how to "sit", and loves to show you how well she can do it, for any type of snack!! She does need some work on the leash, as she does tend to pull sometimes. She would definitely love to have a home with another friendly dog pal, and would definitely love a home where she could sleep in a bedroom, where her family is. She loves to curl up on her doggie bed in her foster mom and dad's room at night, and doesn't make a peep, until the next morning when her family wakes up.
