My Story

!!! AVAILABLE for Adoption from Foster Care !!! MACY - A#43781416Foster's email: [email protected]: Macy in foster care - https://photos.app.goo.gl/hDNX3onwd7qSRKHc9Macy in foster care pt2! - https://photos.app.goo.gl/4Yaj1yHySuzcZnrm8Macy's Slumber Party - https://photos.app.goo.gl/jyuc8FgX8iPA2XT26Another Slumber Party - https://photos.app.goo.gl/yoxDGg8fSm8iZYy29Macy's beauty shots - https://flic.kr/s/aHsmLisZYnPersonality: - Macy is definitely a morning person! She is always very happy when she wakes up, wants to give extra snuggles, and is excited to go on a morning walk.- Macy loves sunshine. She enjoys laying in the sun or going on long walks on sunny days. She can get a little feisty on grey cloudy days.- Macy eats like a champ (so far she has loved all dry food and treats), and she is completely house trained (no accidents)!- She loves going out for walks. She preps by stretching, crawling on her elbows and knees, and howling (it's very cute).- Macy likes to spend as much time outdoors as possible, and we have found that she is pretty happy walking 4-5 miles per day.- We have been walking her 3 times a day - first thing in the morning, sometime in the afternoon (3-6pm), and then at 8:30pm.- She loves having her neck and chest scratched.- Macy loves all toys - we haven't found a dog toy she doesn't like. She especially likes rope/pull toys and balls.- Macy will not let you eat peanut butter unless you also give her some!- Macy likes to walk at a brisk pace and she will jog or run if you let her. She did a 9:45min mile and can definitely go faster!- Macy is an excellent city dog - she isn't scared of cars, bicycles, or other people. She wants to meet other dogs and play when we go out on walks, and she doesn't understand what a quarantine is.- Macy does not seem to like small dogs very much. She barks when she hears high pitched barking or when she sees a small dog barking on the street.- Macy loves toilet paper - you have to watch to make sure she doesn't unwind the whole roll or steal a roll to run around with.- Macy also loves drinking water, and she will stick her head in the shower while it is on just to see if she can catch a few drops. - She does like a lot of attention and will nudge you with her nose, lick your hands, or bark when she thinks you aren't giving her enough attention.- Macy loves to give kisses, especially face kisses.- Macy knows "sit", "down", and "come here", and she is currently working on "stay."- She is great during car rides.Intake Type: (2/7) Stray Weight: 47.00 poundsMedical Observation:(2/8) Senior dog with dental disease and fractured teeth, some cranial organomegally and low grade heart murmur, underweight body condition with muscle wasting r/o underlying medical/metabolic cause vs nutritional vs parasitic or other infectious. Single patch of hairloss on tail could be secondary to underlying endocrine disorder vs old trauma vs less likely FAD. Recommend promotion to rescue willing to perform senior bloodwork and dental +/- abdominal ultrasound pending bloodwork results and cardiac work-up. Behavior Observation: (3/12) Slumber Party Notes:Macy is a wonderful dog. She is so caring, sweet and very obedient. She was a wonderful snuggler and was just looking for attention and affection where ever she could have it. No accidents in the house. I know there was a question about being house trained, but she was great with us. She would howl a little bit to let us know she needed to go outside to pee. We walked her twice a day. Small quick walk in the AM and then a long one at night. She slept in a bed with us one evening but the second night chose to stay downstairs for the first half of the evening on the couch. She is a little bit of a snorer, but it was very cute. She was playful and energetic. She was not begging for food nor getting into anything she was not supposed to. We have an open garbage can in the kitchen and she paid it no mind. She walked wonderfully on the lease and was never timid, startled, or scared by anything on our walks. She was utterly unfazed and barely made a peep during her whole stay. She was never anxious in the car. She sat on the seat and just looked out the window. Granted we live in a quiet home, just my partner and I. There are no children nor pets but Macy was so peaceful that I can imagine her doing well in a lot of environments. Macy is an all-star and deserves the best! This animal is currently available from foster care through ACCT Philly's Adoptions Programs.
