Luna, our 8 year old 25 pound Cardigan Welsh Corgi mix...actually, can we go on a bit of a tangent? Did you know that "Corgi" is Welsh for "dwarf dog"? But, they used to be called the "yard-long dog"? That is so much better. Here is Luna, my Yard-Long Dog. And the Cardigan bit is the area in Wales where they come from, not because they look like they are wearing little Kurt Cobain sweaters. Anyway, Luna needs a new home!
Luna ended up at our local shelter needing some dental help. Never ones to say "no" to those who are long and short, we happily took her in. We had to pull a few broken teeth but Luna has recovered perfectly.
Gentle and easy going, Luna has a great medium energy level. She'll happily go on walks and play fetch but can sploot with the best of them. Good on a leash, Luna is friendly with all of the people (even kids!) and dogs we've seen her with. She's even had a couple of low key cat interactions. She's likely fine around dog-savvy felines. Someone taught Luna to sit, lay down, roll over and speak. Eager to show off her tricks, Luna would love to keep learning. Luna is potty trained and not destructive when left alone.
Luna is microchipped, heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives.
Did you know Queen Elizabeth also had several Dorgi's? That's a mix of a Sausage Dog and a Yard-Long Dog. A Yard Sausage. Anyway, apply to adopt at www.stumptownstrays.org
