Luigi was thrown out of a vehicle right in front of our shelter. He ran around a while, scared of everyone trying to help him. Finally he was captured & taken in & given a nice bath, some food & a safe place to sleep.
After being at the shelter about a week Luigi had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. The money used to pay for Luigi's surgery was won in a contest supported by the recent Durham Pet Fair & 'HELP WILLY'S FRIENDS'. Our veterinarian who removed the tumor says that there is a small chance the cancer will come back. Also, Luigi must be in thyroid medicine for the rest of his life, which only costs about $18/month. We are still learning more about Luigi. He is starting to walk around more & is feeling better since his surgery. He takes his medicine very well. He will need to go to an adults only, quiet home, as loud noises & loud people scare him. He is such a sweet boy & has a great personality! He is about 10 years old.
