My Story
adopted to Minister Wilhemina in London July 19, 2006.
<>she went in the Canada Day parade and had lots of fun!<>
<>June 23rd she finally got into a fosterhome - This info below is from her foster mom:
"She is great with the cat, she doesn't really seem to bother with her at all. She is fine with the dogs. She is for sure house trained. She is very gentle with her foster parents including their son BUT she does jump up on them, and they are working on curbing that behaviour. "<>
<>now my guess is she is just over 1 year old , she is full of spunk and very sweet, she does know lay down and sit but not by name, she needs to go in a basic (positive reinforcement) obedience course to learn her manners, she is 36 lbs and is thin, she should fill out - we just had her groomed and she looks like a completly different dog , she had beige mixed in with grey black and white hairs - that was mid length. she is a very sweet girl, came over and gave me a kiss when i put her leash on at the vets, she also sat down when wishing to see a kitten from the same pound, and when she saw it she gave it a lick, vet thinks she is an adult, she looks a bit like benji but scruffier - i am not sure of her exact terrier breed but her hair was midlength wire haired- she looks like a bigger version of a Westie mixed with a Wheaten Terrier, she falls in the Wheaten's size range, she is fostered with Oswald, plus some foster kittens Chester, Sophie and Midnight, plus the foster homes own dog and cat, she was spayed June 6th and came into our care Wednesday June 7th. she is spayed, has been vaccinated, will be dewormed preadoption and was treated for parasites with Revolution June 13th, & July 1st and is being boostered this Friday July 7th<>
<>she had been staying at a boarding kennel due to lack of volunteer caregivers and fosterhomes, prior to this, so she is extremely hyper and excited to be with humans in a home<>
<>as with any dog in our care, she needs a home where only positive reinforcement training is used thus we ask you do not apply if you plan to use old school ways as that will scare them further.<>
if interested in applying please complete the dog application off of the adoption page of www.adoptapet.lucknow.on.ca
the adoption fee includes a spay, vaccination, and she will be boostered, deworming and parasite prevention, spectra collar with safety release and ID tag, transitory food and treats, and she is eligible for a complimentary training course at On Golden Paws in Goderich - the adoption fee is $200 with 1st vaccines and ther is an $25 for booster if in our care 3-4 weeks thereafter
our dog shelter closed in mid May due to lack of volunteer caregivers willing to help with the animals care AND lack of funding - if interested in adoption of one of our dogs please submit a dog application which can be found on the adoption page of www.adoptapet.lucknow.on.ca - we also welcome queries on fostering - as we hope to resort to our former ways of having each dog in its own foster home, so that all the dogs in need are not euthanized, when their time is up in local vet pounds
