Lucy

Meet Lucy! Her brown/white coat is soft and shiny, and her eyes are intelligent and kind. She knows she's a bit portly, but she's working on that, running and walking a couple of miles a day! Once she drops a few pounds, she is going to be absolutely stunning!!! Lucy is intelligent and affectionate. She loves to go for walks and runs, she's VERY good on a leash. Her medical records indicate that she is a "Terrier Mix". Tied on a chain for most of her life, Lucy looked longingly with her big brown eyes at people who passed her by with nary a second glance. Being the kind, trusting soul that she is, she was hoping that someone would rescue her and take her home with them. Other dogs were attacking her and because she was tied up, she had no defense. She gave birth to several litters, as she couldn't escape the onslaught of males who wanted to mate with her. Eventually, she found herself in a shelter where, unbeknownst to her, she was in jeopardy of being euthanized. Thanks to a wonderful family who offered to foster her, we were able to pull her from "death row" just in time, with only minutes to spare. Lucy is confident, and absolutely wonderful with humans of all ages. Her foster mom can't say enough good things about this sweet girl. She's initially cautious with other dogs, but once she trusts that they're not going to hurt her, she's very friendly toward them as well. She's not very curious about cats - she pretty much ignores them. Lucy is about 4 years old, and she currently weighs about 68 lbs. Her optimal weight is about 60lbs, and she is determined to get back her girlish figure. She is spayed, has all her required vaccines, and is microchipped.
