Say hello to Lucy! This 4 year old, 57 pound, shepherd mix has the goofiest personality with a smile to match! This easy going girl is looking for her people to tag along with on all errands and family activities. Lucy can be a bit nervous in new situations but she has made major strides while with her foster family. Now that she has gotten comfortable, she lets her bright personality shine in all lights! This comes in the form of intense belly rub sessions, strutting the town, and meeting new people. Lucy’s ideal forever family will be one that is dedicated to supporting her weight loss journey and maintaining a healthy lifestyle for her. A fenced yard would help with giving Lucy more activity, but it is not required. Lucy is house trained (no accidents!) and does well when home alone. She is allowed to free roam solo and tends to spend her alone time napping in a big comfy chair. Lucy has not been known to be a howler when home alone so she may be a good candidate for a home with shared walls. During stressful events such as fireworks or thunderstorms, Lucy tends to get a bit nervous and would prefer to have someone around to keep her comfortable. Lucy has been known to do well having other pets in the home. She has lived with a cat in the past and is friendly with other dogs. At times, Lucy can get overly excited when seeing other dogs on leash. This is a work in progress! As far as kids go, Lucy spent time with them in her previous home but has not had any interactions with children while in foster. We expect her to adapt well to kids in the future with supervised and consistent interactions. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
