Lucky is a fine figure of a beagle. Just into his golden years, he is beautifully housebroken, of moderate energy and admirably greedy -- in short, he is just what a connaisseur of beagles would want.
Lucky was given up by his doting human due to a reversal in family fortunes. She worked tirelessly to find a rescue that would take this guy, and she was fortunate to hook up with someone from Beagle Maryland who took him in as a foster.
We are pleased to report that Lucky is perfectly suited for a life of suburban leisure. He enjoys a leisurely walk, loves being indoors on his bed and otherwise savors the simple pleasures of life. His early care has given him a strong constitution and he is in fine health as a result.
This is not to say that Lucky is a paragon of virtue, or boring. He is a beagle, and his nose will always lead him into a little adventure (for example, he found and devoured a loaf of bread that someone in his foster home had "abandoned", which in beagle time means that they had left the bread on the counter unattended for several minutes). That beagle greed and shamelessness will ensure that Lucky will give his family something to laugh about every day
