Lucie

Greetings everyone, meet the sweetest, quirkiest, most fun senior in the world named Lucie. This girl has tons of personality. She loves having her own bed to rest in, but if she gets too hot she takes two steps out and literally plops on the floor. It sounds like a sack of taters hitting the ground. LOL! When she does sleep, most of the time she sleeps on her back with her four feet up in the air. And when she needs to go out, she’ll come and talk to you to let you know. She’s not as persistent as she should be yet, but no doubt she will be in no time. She's very smart. We are having so much fun with her. Lucie is about 14 years old and was brought in as a stray, so we don’t know a lot about her backstory, but whatever it was, the good news is it’s over now. She came in terribly emaciated weighing only 6 pounds and she should be closer to 8 - 10 pounds. She knows her name well, comes when she’s called, and is a champion eater. Lucie is also diabetic. What that means is at the moment she needs a tiny amount (1 unit) of insulin twice a day, but it doesn’t faze her in the least. Lucie is also the perfect combination of independent girl and snuggle buddy. She’s more than happy to lay in her bed when you’re busy but when you’re ready to snuggle up on the sofa she loves to be near and soak up all the love you want to give.
