Lucas

Lucas is a 15lb, 6 year old, Maltipoo mix. Lucas is a cute guy who is pretty mellow overall but he does love to roll in and throw around his toys. He also enjoys a walk and does well on a car ride. Lucas was an only pet in his last home but he has been learning to play with other dogs and absolutely loves to wrestle and chase them now! He runs over to greet his friends first thing every morning! He would love a playmate in his next home but prefers dogs his size. He also gets along with cats fine but mostly ignores them. Lucas was very nervous when he first arrived and it took him a couple days to warm up to any animal or person. He sat in a corner and observed until he felt comfortable. So, he needs a patient person who will give him time to adjust. He doesn't like to be pushed into anything and would prefer to come to you on his own terms. Once he trusts you, he is very cuddly. He will then run to your lap for comfort any time he gets nervous again. Lucas has a soft coat that will require grooming and he may need a professional groomer because he can be head shy (he doesn't like his face trimmed or brushed). Unfortunately, we do not feel Lucas would do well with young kids. Lucas is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is also crate trained and housebroken but he did have a few accidents during the first couple of days in his foster home so he may need to learn his new environment and routine in his next home as well.
