I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:3Meet Lorelei - the Resilient and Sweet, 7-year old Pittie Survivor Lorelei was brought to Oakland Animal Shelter by the OPD a while back, completely emaciated with ouchy skin, ripped-up ears, and eyes that could tell a million stories. Despite her rough past, she's shown remarkable resilience and has a lot of love to give. Emotionally Reserved: Lorelei may show very little emotion, but she'll gradually opening up with some encouragement. Likely Housebroken: Lorelei doesn't go potty in her kennel, indicating she's likely house-trained. Dog-Friendly: She passed her dog/dog evaluation and would likely do okay with another dog in the house. Gentle with Food: Despite her initial state of emaciation, Lorelei is not food aggressive and takes treats gently. Calm Walker: Lorelei pulls on the leash when she sees another dog but generally walks calmly, even ignoring distractions like roosters. Gentle Yet Playful: once warmed up to you, she presents a nice balance of calmness and playfulness. Takes Medicine Well:** Lorelei takes her skin medicine without any fuss. Independent but Social:** She's not a clingy dog but does not like being left out in the yard alone. Lorelei needs a soft landing and a loving home where she can continue to heal and thrive.
