THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING - LOLA IS NOT IN OUR RESCUE PROGRAM, PLEASE CONTACT: Pamela
[email protected], 856-935-4043 if you are interested in adopting Lola.
Lola is a 7 year old (7/2000) spayed female gsp.
She is up to date on all shots. Lola likes other dogs, but should not be with other strong females as she is alpha.
Loves to play-tug-of war with people and other dogs. Since she is an alpha she has to win or she will make sure that she does. Therefore would not be good with other females that are alpha.
Hates thunderstorms. Found this out the night I rescued her. Rescue Remedy works well with her.
Eats 1 cup twice a day of Flint River Ranch regular food. Will eat any flavor. Has lost 7 lbs so far. She started out at 64 lbs and as of 5/30/06 she is 57lbs. She needs to loose another 10 lbs. She is not food aggressive, but if challenged by another dog she will make sure that they do not get her food. She is not that way with people at all.
She loves her treats. And will sing and dance for them.
She is a digger. She digs to get after moles, mice, etc. So if she is not kept occupied she will dig and get out like she did with the previous people that had her. With lots of toys and another playful dog she will do great.
I would not place her with small children as she gets so excited when she plays that she nips and scratches. Not to hurt, just to make sure she wins.
Totally housebroken. Loves to sleep in bed.
Hates cold weather and loves to be totally covered up.
With her breed and being an alpha she has a tendency to blow you off. She is not being bad, she is just doing her job.
Should not be off leash as she was trained as a hunter and will take off to do her job. Would recommend obedience class so she learns to listen to her person and have better recall. Loves to ride in the car and is well-behaved in the car. Needs to work on waiting until you get out of the car before she does.
