My Story

LOLA - we put up a ‘Courtesy Post’ for Alain late last week and found a temporary foster for his dog that he had to rehome. She arrived to Toronto Monday July 22, and on Wednesday morning she went to a temporary foster that offered to help us with her for a short time only. She is now in the Oakville/ #Burlington area in foster care. Her original adopter of 5 years was devastated to let her go, and LOLA felt it and likely still does. She is currently feeling anxious as she left everything she knew, including the only human she ever loved. She’s clearly missing him and is very confused. This beautiful girl is not an RDL-C rescue dog, but we offered to help Alain find her a good home, as he came all the way to Canada thinking that leaving her in a shelter would ensure she had a better fate than being left behind in Lebanon - we told him that was not necessarily true, so we have taken her on to help find her a wonderful forever home. He didn’t know that shelters here are crowded and very stressful, and that not all shelters are no kill ones. About LOLA: Age: 5 years Breed: Pointer / Flat Coated Retreiver Mix Weight: approx 23kg Spayed: yes Vaccines up to date: yes Microchipped: yes Character: loyal, Velcro Dog, shy, can be energetic for long walks yet loves being indoors. LOLA’s Mom is a Pointer was rescued by Alain and then gave birth in his home. 1 puppies died from parvo and one found a home in North Lebanon. He had 2 other rescue dogs and they all lived with him for the last 5 years. She loves her human very much and prefers humans to dogs. RDL-C does not recommend dog parks, so LOLA would also not like them. She needs some dog socializing since leaving the dogs she grew up with so dog parks are a no. LOLA needs to find stability again. She can be energetic and loves long walks, nature and the company of humans, especially men. She used to follow him with no leash, so will need leash training. She is a ‘Velcro’ dog, very loyal to her owner. She is said to be great with kids but we prefer she is with adults to start. If you or someone you know is ready for a loyal dog, let us know by applying!
