Loki

Loki started his life as the companion of an elderly man. Just before Loki turned 3 years old, his owner died and he was surrendered to the shelter. Since then, his life has been unstable, with one change after another. Since we rescued him in March, we have observed that Loki is house trained, loves to be with his people, thrives on routine, and has been friendly toward nearby dogs. He does not want to get onto the furniture; even when invited onto the couch, he prefers the floor or a dog bed. Loki likes to have something in his mouth, especially when he's playing or excited, and he really enjoys chew toys. Loki sleeps late in the morning, likes just being with his people in the house, and enjoys having a bone or stuffed Kong in the evening while his people read or watch tv. He likes going for walks or playing fetch, and as long as he gets regular exercise, he doesn't need much. So far, Loki doesn't want to get in the car. We can get him in to bring him to a new home, and he rode just fine on the way from the shelter. But it seems Loki never learned about cars, or maybe he has learned that they take him places he doesn't want to go. So we'd like to find him a home with adults, preferably people who are home a lot, who will be happy just to have him around the house. Can you give Loki the stability and love he is craving? **We are no longer placing dogs for adoption in apartments.
