My Story

Little Bear was rescued at 17 days old. Bottle fed and raised in a home with 1 person and 5 other dogs. He is a handsome boy who is doing well with housebreaking and learning basic commands. He loves going for a walk and playing with his doggie friends. He especially loves to play in the water. His family history is unknown as we never saw his mother or father. I think he has German shepherd - look at his ears! And his love of water points toward some lab. Bear is very affectionate, he knows to give kisses. He does sit, lie down and stay easily, although he does appreciate treats that might be available. He crates very well, sleeps all night and will often pop into his crate for a rest. He is an active, very typical puppy and can get in trouble chewing shoes and personal belongings. He will play fetch for hours and we have taught him to release the toy when he returns with it. I do not allow him to growl when playing as we saw early on that he becomes overstimulated and wanted to nip at hands. He thinks all dogs want to play with him, so he needs to learn when to leave the seniors alone. Has done well with playful kitties. Bear does take some time to get comfortable with new people. He warms up with playtime and treats. Bear would do well in a family setting with another dog who will play with him. He will really benefit from structured training as he learns quickly.
