Lily

Lily / F / 5 months / 32lbs / Lab Hound mix / Fostered in Owen Sound Lily is busy, friendly, playful and silly. She can entertain herself by emptying the toy box and playing with stuffies and chew toys (so far she has not destroyed any). She enjoys her Kong toy and playing in the yard. She is great in the car. Her foster mom says "She is gentle when coming for a cuddle. She crawls up on the couch to nap after a play. She and my dog play tag or keep away with a ball. Fun to watch." Lily is house trained and will usually let her foster know when she needs to go out. She is currently getting around 8 potty breaks a day. She goes into the crate willingly and with little fuse as long as the purple chew toy is filled with kibble. She has been left alone for up to 2.5 hours with no issues and no signs of separation anxiety. Lily walks well on leash but stops often to check out her surroundings and sits or lies down when nervous. She has been going on short walks on the same route to help get more confident as she is nervous in new areas and with new sounds. She gets excited when she sees kids or other dogs and wants to go up and say hi! She is working on not jumping up on people and not mouthing during play. She has not shown any guarding behaviours. She is high/medium energy at playtime but can chill in the house. She's currently getting two 15 minute walks a day plus lots of backyard playtime with her foster dog sister. Lily is friendly when meeting new people and loves the attention. She gets along well with respectful children, other dogs and cats. Her ideal home is in a quiet neighbourhood with an active family. She would love a dog or human sibling to play with. She's looking for someone who will continue to help her grow her confidence and will be patient with her.
