Liberty (AKA Libby)

Meet Liberty, or Libby for short!!! She is a 4.5 year old American Staffordshire Terrier. She is short and stout, weighing in at 50 pounds. Libby came to us from Houston over two years ago. She needed a lot of time to settle in, having gone through a lot of transition in a short amount of time. But she has been in an amazing foster home who has helped her get over some of her anxiety and has become a wonderful little lady. She is house and crate trained, but having been with her foster family for as long as she has, she now sleeps pretty much anywhere her little heart desires. She can be left out of her crate when her foster family leaves the home and is not destructive at all. When meeting new people Libby can be very excited, and can come across intense but she is not aggressive at all. With new dogs, it is the same, she just doesn't know how to introduce herself but in a controlled environment she does well. Libby is looking for a home who will continue her training, keep her active and let her get her zoomies out, and also understand that she needs time to adjust to new surroundings. She would do well with older children and an active family who can take her on walks or play in the backyard.
