Lexus

Lexis and Dodge (also listed here were found as a pair) Early in November of 2023 with rain on the way and the winds blowing in colder temperatures, a pair of weary wanders were found on a rural road in Webster Parish. A caring lady and her granddaughter contacted LaMa Animal Rescue for help for two abandoned dogs. Hungry covered in fleas and ticks, Dodge and Lexus, were running thin on hope that someone would show them kindness. Lexus was very pregnant and in terrible shape, and what can only be presumed to be scares on her body and face from life as a bait dog. Her ears severely damaged and her neck had the marking of a tight chain and lock she had worn for many years. She was late in her pregnancy and bleeding heavily when a LaMa Rescuer got them to the vet to be examined. A C-section was performed on Lexus, but all her puppies were dead. Poor Lexus had made it to safety but not in time for her puppies to be saved. She and Dodge also tested positive for heartworms; they both will undergo treatments to get them healthy enough to search for their forever home. Lexus is shy and scared as expected from what she has been through, but Dodge is a flirt and very playful. This unlikely pair will no longer have to wonder where they will find food or shelter, but they will keep looking and hoping to find a home that will give them the life they deserve. Both Lexus and Dodge are very playful and love each other. Ideally it would be great if they can be kept together since they have been each other's companion through the hardships of their journey and they simply love each other. Dodge will dig out of his kennel just to spend time with Lexus, and they do play together frequently. They deserve a wonderful loving home that can give them security and let them bloom with love. The Character of a community is reflected in the way that it treats those in need.
