Leon in MS - Calm & Sweet, Laid-Back Guy

This adorable Pyrenees Lab mix boy is Leon - a great mix of two wonderful breeds! Leon is a very sweet older boy who loves to hang out with his best dog pals Yeti and Sophia. Leon would do fine as an only dog or with other calmer, non-hyper dogs to pal around with. He has a lower energy level and is a very nice calm boy who walks well on leash. His foster mom describes him as a couch potato, just a calm, laid-back kind of guy. Leon came in from one of the worst neglect cases we have ever seen in all of our years of doing rescue and he's doing remarkably well considering all he has been through. His foster mom has done a fantastic job working with him - he's come such a long way and will come up to you for attention and pets. Leon will likely be a bit shy when transitioning to a new home until he settles in and feels comfortable and secure. So he would do best with a patient owner, as he was so neglected in his former life and was in horrible shape when he arrived to rescue. Leon is heartworm positive and we are treating him with the slow kill method and will provide meds until he tests clear. We are so thankful for the kind fosters who worked with him and the rest of the dogs in this group to get them ready for homes of their own. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
