Would you like to meet the dogs in person? We will be at Pamida in Madison, SD from 10am-1pm on Saturday July 12th. Most of the dogs up for adoption will be at Pamida for you to meet! Foster parents will be there to answer any questions you may have about the dogs. We will accept applications for adoption at the event, but no on the spot adoptions will happen. If the weather is questionable, please call before traveling to Madison that day. See you at Pamida! !

Lenny was rescued from a horrible dog auction. He suffered a great deal in the hands of the kennel who had him before he was saved. Lenny is covered with Mange and sores from scratching and biting. HIs nose has been bit off by another dog. Despite all he has went through, he is trying to be brave and is trying to trust people. With a lot of tender loving care, Lenny will thrive and blossom. Rudy is neutered, utd shots, dewormed, heartworm tested. His adoption donation is $175. We require an adoption application, references, adoption contract and home visit. We only adopt to families in SD, MN, NE, ND, IA.

Important things to know before you contact us:

If you are out of state, it does take time to process your application and find a home visitor from another rescue to do your visit. Please be SERIOUS about adopting a dog from our rescue before submitting an application.

The application is the first step. After we receive and approve a completed application, we will schedule a home visit.

Almost Home is run from foster homes. We have no facility for the public to come in and view pets.

We do not ship our dogs.
