This ADORABLE fella is LB!!! He is a cute 1 yr old Black Lab & Basset Hound Mix weighing 37 lbs (so is on the smaller size of medium). LB was rescued from a shelter in the south prior to being euthanized. His foster mom describes him as a sweet boy who has both loving personalities of a Lab & a Basset Hound. He has the howl of a Basset and is very much of a scent hound with his nose to the ground when he goes for walks, which he LOVES!!! His head is very much that of a Lab, but his body is close to the ground like a Basset's. He's a sweet & loving boy with a moderate activity level who just wants love and attention. LB is well socialized and house & crate trained. He does great with other dogs unless they begin to act aggressively towards him. He doesn't back down. He also DOES NOT initiate any aggressive actions towards other dogs. LB does bark when he is home alone, but has gotten much better as he is settling in his foster home. HE JUST LOVES TO BE WITH HIS PEOPLE :) He really likes to be with children, going for walks & car rides. His ideal adopter would be a family with children who want a loving and happy dog. We are a network of foster homes in the South and the New England area. THERE IS NO SPECIFIC SHELTER LOCATION. If you wish to meet our dogs, you must first be approved by going through our application and screening process.
Forever Home Rescue suggests obedience training for all puppies and dogs. All dogs are up to date on their shots, dewormed and spayed or neutered. Vet fees, transport fee and New England quarantine fees ARE INCLUDED in each dog's adoption fee. Also, any dogs older than pups--even if they are not marked housetrained in their posting---usually housetrain within a day or two, because most are used to living outside in the south and will prefer to "do their business" outdoors.
