My Story

Lani has checked into Camp HSWC and is a bit reluctant to be here. It would seem her owner has signed her up for all the camp activities but Lani would rather still be at home. She is trying to make the best of it here. When she first arrived, she was a bit like a teenager that is grumpy and does not want her things moved or anyone in her room. Her second week is going more smoothly. She has started to venture out of her cabin and hang out a bit. She is trying to figure out what this place is and what she likes to do. She enjoys the nature walks with the friendly volunteers. She is starting to show good manners when stepping outside now. (much easier to get her to come out of her cabin) She can be a very sweet girl and she is not showing much reactivity to other cat campers or dog campers. Walking by the other cabins is pretty easy with Lani. She keeps a very neat cabin and does all her personal hygiene business outside. If the cat campers growl or hiss at her she has not shown any grumpiness. She is unsure of what they are and will not approach them to pursue the encounter. Her background details include some ups and downs as they have been explained to the camp counselors. So we will all be patient and supportive and give her time to open up. Her story may include some harsh treatment from a broken home. She is resilient and forgiving. She is confused and wants someone to help her through this uneasy phase of her life. She's hoping to meet some nice folks here at camp HSWC that can show her real love and kindness and help her. We are Confident the right family will fall in love with her and they will open their hearts to her sad tale. No one wants to be at camp alone if they don't have friends and don't like the activities. But we are giving her good snacks and fresh air while she waits for her perfect family. How about you? Do you have room in your heart to help a down and out camper? We know she will be a wonderful companion. She might need one or two outings to begin to trust you. But she enjoys spending time with people. Her feelings are still pretty hurt right now. We hope you can show her that there are very kind and reliable people that will love her forever. Recap: Good with people. Not showing reactivity toward cats. Unsure what they are. Not showing dog reactivity. May do better with female dog campers. Background details include positive encounters with kids. She is neat in her cabin. May be protective of food in her cabin. Go slowly so she knows you don't want her stuff. beautiful fur, eyes and teeth. Healthy appearance. 74 pounds. Primary Color: Yellow Weight: 79lbs Age: 3yrs 2mths 0wks
