Lance

Lance is another one of the Florida hurricane victims. His family was forced from their home by flood waters following the hurricanes so they took him to the county shelter. He was just to be there until his family could get back into their home. No one seems to know what happened....but his family never did come back for him. Poor Lance was locked up in a kennel at the county animal shelter, sharing his cold, dark, kennel with a parade of other dogs (large and small). The others came and went while poor Lance waited for his family to return. Three months later when animal control was unable to reach his owners he was scheduled to be put to sleep. We had noticed Lance every time we went to animal control to rescue other dogs. We just couldn't let this happen, so he is now at our rescue. Lance is a sweet older boy. We think he is 8 to 10 years old. His vision is dimmed some but not bad enough to cause him a problem getting around. He is not deaf but may be a little hard of hearing. He is a love.
