You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Calling all hound lovers! My name is Ladybird Johnson and I am a 48lb, 5.5-year-old female Coonhound. I am good with dogs and people, and I am house-trained and crate-trained! In fact, my foster mom says I am the most polite house guest she has ever had. I don't bark, howl, or make any noise whatsoever. You can even eat your food next to me on the couch and I will not ask for any. Coonhounds are known for being smart, loving, and loyal and I live up to that reputation! My foster mom describes me as the most sweet and gentle soul. I don't ask for much - just a peaceful and loving home where I never have to worry about my future again, and an owner who doesn't mind letting me snuggle on the couch (Ps. I promise I smell just fine, no "hound smell" here, whatever that means!). I have a soft coat, long floppy ears, and a squishy muzzle that my foster mom can't get enough of. I am very affectionate and I love to just lay by your side. I'm still learning what it's like to be loved and not have to be scared, and that means I can be a little shy at times although I am becoming more confident with each passing day. My favorite activities are napping, cuddling, and going for walks so I can use my powerful nose for sniffs. I walk well on a leash and also enjoy jogging with my person! I've been told my run is totally adorable. My foster mom thinks I would do best in a quiet home with adults only since I can feel overwhelmed when there's a lot going on around me. I wouldn't mind a dog companion with a similar temperament though! I would also love a family that has ample time to spend with me and a fenced yard to keep me safe and give me room to stretch my legs.
