Meet Läika, a fun-loving 16-month-old Shepherd mix in need of a temporary foster or permanent home. She was transferred to Kiko after her family brought her to our overcrowded partner shelter due to lack of time and being too energetic for their young children.
Healthy and only 45 pounds, Läika will make an ideal hiking or running companion for an experienced active single or couple. She would prefer to be the only dog, but does get along with other dogs after being introduced properly. Läika likes cats, though, and can cohabitate nicely with them. She’s housetrained, eager to learn and please her people, and understands commands. Läika is more of the outdoorsy type, so a home in a quiet suburban, semi-rural or rural setting would be ideal.
