My Story

Katie is one of the luckiest dogs TNT has ever had! Katie narrowly escaped being euthanized at a shelter in Washington and has now been adopted by one of the most wonderful people working in animal rescue in the Vancouver area. We know that KT will live a long and happy life with her new mom and extended family of friends.
Congratulations to KT and her MOM!!!!

Katie's foster family has seen this little girl thru so much they are hoping to adopt her in the new year!
This girl has special needs and has had a traumatic past so we hope she stays where she is too ;)

October Update:

Since coming into our care we have found Sadie, who her foster mom has re-named Katie, to be a pretty scared little girl. She will need a patient and calm home where she can learn to trust her people and environment. Sadie is scared of loud noises and may be timid when meeting new people or in new situations.

Sadie is in a foster home that she shares with a very dog-savvy cat and a senior dog. She seems much more comfortable being in a home with another dog who has really helped to settle her in.

We are certain Sadie would love to live with another mellow dog, maybe a laid back male who doesn't mind a bossy little sister.
The company of another dog really helps Sadie feel secure, especially when left alone. She is learning from and looking up to her senior foster brother always keeping close to him but not being a pest. Well, not much of one anyway...
Sadie is enjoying all her walks and is easy on leash. She has started to do a little jumping around in the yard too. Almost playing with her senior foster pal, not that he is interested!

We are helping Sadie get over the loss of her busy family. She was pretty out-of-sorts coming out of her home but we don't blame her! We know it won't take her long to enjoy being the center of attention so please check back for updates from her foster home!
Please contact us for more information or if you are interested in adopting Sadie.

Intake Information:
Sadie is a very cute 2 yr old female who is only about 35 pounds. Just look at that face!

Sadie was living in a busy household with 4 children and spending a long portion of the day alone in a crate. Sadie's family did not have the time or experience needed to care for a dog. They knew she needed more attention and much more regular exercise. Sadie did not seem to like all the noise of the children either, so we are looking for a home without kids for her.

Sadie knows how to sit, shake-a-paw,stay and lay down. She has not spent much time on-leash so may not a great heeler. She is a petite girl and not too strong so that should come as she gets used to leash walks. She has been to obedience school in the past and did very well!

Sadie lived with a cat, and liked the cat, so a dog savvy cat should be OK. Sadie may be dominant with some dogs but is fine with most as long as they are OK with her being a typical bossy female Pei!

Sadie didn't have a fenced yard where she lived but we know she'd enjoy the freedom to play in a safe yard with her people if she had one. Of course that is on top of lots of walks and play time.
As long as Sadie gets the socializing and exercise she needs her main requirement is a committed and loving home. Being that she is not used to having a yard to run in an apartment or town home setting should be just fine with her as long as she gets outside play and walk time daily.

Sadie has some minor skin and major ear irritations that should lessen as her stress decreases and with the better quality food she is now enjoying. She is an otherwise healthy girl who is also up to date on her shots.

Sadie needs an experienced Shar-pei home that enjoys the quirks of the breed, including the crazy burst of energy they sometimes get when they gallop around the house!
