WOW! Check out KNACK! He's about 1-year and 2-months-old, fully grown, and about 45lbs. He's a happy, friendly, and affectionate and LOVES people and other dogs! On an energy scale of 1 to 10, Knack is about a 5. He's not lazy, but he's not hyper either. He's a well-balanced boy! And he's even got the paperwork top prove it! His foster family took him to the PetSmart in Porterville for training classes and Knack passed with flying colors! Check out his certificate and his graduation photo! And now he knows basic commands and is eager to learn even more! His foster family has gone above and beyond to prove that he is EXTREMELY adoptable and will easily adjust to a final forever home! The guess work is gone! You KNOW Knack is going to make a fantastic pet! Set-up up a meet & greet with him and see him in action for yourself!

Companion Animal Protection Services (CAPS), a national nonprofit based in Thousand Oaks, CA., is partnering with Kern County Animal Services in Bakersfield to find homes for high risk dogs, The shelter has more than 300 dogs and puppies in two metal warehouses with no outdoor runs. Dogs over five-months-old are at high risk for euthanasia because of lack of space and too many abandoned dogs in the community.
Please contact CAPS if you are interested in adopting, rescuing or fostering, and we will make sure the shelter contacts you. They do not answer phones or respond often to voice messages due to understaffing. Foster homes must be in Kern County. The dogs are in Bakersfield, not Thousand Oaks.
