MEET CASSIDY's "ROCK ON" LITTER!

SEE MORE PHOTOS!  These puppies have an entire photo album online.  Just CLICK HERE and scroll to "Cassidy's 'Rock On'" litter! in alphabetical order.

SEE MY VIDEO!  If there is a "video" tab above my photo, you can see me in action!

About Cassidy's Puppies:      Cassidy, a gorgeous young purebred Alaskan Malamute, came to us OBVIOUSLY expecting a family of her own!  We were lucky enough to find a wonderful family willing to foster her and commit to keeping her puppies 'til adoptive homes can be found.  We were, however, VERY surprised when she just kept delivering puppies ... four, five, six, seven, eight, NINE!

The pups were born June 3, 2008, and will be ready to go to their new homes on August 2nd.  There are 3 girls and 6 boys -- details below.  One of the best predictors of temperament is the temperament of the parents, and mommy Cassidy is an absolutely great dog -- gentle, extremely loving and cuddly, smart and well-behaved. She has been an exceptionally good and trusting mom, accepting of the pups being handled from a young age.  So these puppies have BOTH "nature" and "nurture" working in their favor!  At this point, we aren't quite sure what breed daddy might have been, so we are saying "Traveling Salesman" for now!  :)   These pups have been raised since birth in foster, and have been socialized in a home setting with other dogs of varying ages, sizes and temperaments, and lots of visitors of all ages!  So they are happy, well-adjusted puppies just about ready fo rhomes of their own!

About Cassidy's Puppies:  If you have people who like big dogs, these pups are just for them! All of these puppies are going to be large to extra large. Their paws are immense ... their weight at birth was about a pound, and by the 4th week they were already weighing in at over 7 pounds!

Cindy 'Lapper' and Journey are the smallest, while Kiss is the largert. Cassidy -- despite it being uncharacteristic for a Mal -- is protective of her home, and it seems that trait has been passed on to most.
They are all developing the curled Malamute tail. All are fat, healthy, delightful pups who are going to grow up to be fantastic dogs!

BOSTON (girl) has the sweetest, most sincere brown eyes you could ever ask to see! She's a gentle
girl who, though playful, is extremely affectionate. Her fur is like velvet!

CINDY 'LAPPER' (girl) is the smallest pup, but is not small in spirit or attiude! She's doesn't know what
'quit' mean. She's the first to learn new things and first to get the gang started on a new adventure. She's
also quite the singer! Cindy is VERY smart and just as sweet as sweet can BE!

GENESIS (girl) is just SUPER sweet, and on the quiet side. Her steady, serious eyes reflect her
intelligence and gentle nature. She "rumbles" with the others just fine, but prefers to be by herself during
'quiet time'. She is sensitive and is the most easily startled.

JOURNEY (boy) is a very mellow dude. He's one of the smaller ones, and is buddies with Meatloaf. Like
Cindy, he is vocal and wants attention. He's a great dog ... I know he looks sad in the photo but he's always
happy to see you! He has an adventurous nature.

KISS
(boy) is the biggest of the bunch. He is playful and easy-going. He's a "gentle bruiser", and enjoys
the puppy "rumbling". He's an all-around good guy ... a lover who loves to be cuddled!

MEATLOAF (boy) was given his name because, well, he's BIG! He's a very mellow sort, the largest of the
brown puppies, and an easy-going, laid-back guy who is just as sweet as he looks!

RUSH (boy) is the instigator of the bunch. If they were kids instead of pups, Rush would be the playground
bully :) He has a strong, dominant personality and isn't afraid to challenge his mom! He's a natural athlete
and runs like the wind and jumps like an Olympian! This strong-willed guy will be perfect for a home who will
appreciate his individualism.

SANTANA (boy) is another sweetheart with melt-your-heart brown eyes who is totally mellow and easy-going.

STEELY DAN (boy) is a quiet guy who balances his mellow nature with a love of play! He has thick, plush,
velvety tan coat and intelligent brown eyes that look right into your soul!

Updates:   Check back soon or SEND AN EMAIL to request more information and/or an adoption application.

The pups' adoption donation is $225.  If you know how much it costs to give a new dog responsible vet care, you can easily see that this is quite a bargain!  The pups will have pediatric spay/neuter surgery, age-approrpriate vaccinations, will have health exams and microchips.

What to do if you want to adopt this dog: Just SEND AN EMAIL to request an adoption application! We will review your application to determine if there is a good match between your family and this dog.  We may suggest another if we can offer a better fit in terms of lifestyle, experience, other pets, etc. A vet check, reference checks, and a home visit will be conducted before an adoption can be considered for approval.

NOTE:   In the vast majority of cases, the dogs in our program are rescued from shelters, and Northern Lights has no means by which to collect or verify a dog's history.  We work in concert with our veterinarians, and breed and age estimates are based on a combination of professional input and our collective experience.  Our policy with information acquired while the dogs are in our care is that of "full disclosure".  It is our goal to ensure the adopter has all available information to ensure the best possible match between the dog and the adopting person or family.  In some instances, because of applicant interest, dogs are in our program for relatively brief periods of time.  If we have identified a temperament or health condition while the dog is in our care and custody, every effort will be made to correct it prior to adoption OR the adopter will be made aware of the issue or condition prior to adoption.  Northern Lights' screening process is designed to select only adopters who are willing, and have the means, to treat conditions which may occur after adoption, and adopter will be contractually responsible for doing so.

NORTHERN LIGHTS IS NOT A SHELTER. We are a rescue comprised of individuals who open their private homes to foster dogs in need of a second chance.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE MORE INFORMATION ABOUT HOW YOU CAN SAVE A LIFE BY FOSTERING FOR NORTHERN LIGHTS, EMAIL US FOR INFO AND AN APPLICATION!   For answers to FAQ regarding who we are, as well as our adoption policies and practices, please VISIT OUR PETFINDER HOME PAGE.
