Rain or shine, easy-going three year old
Kirin is the perfect Lab to make every day a sunny one! “That’s me alright, happy as can be! Don’t I cut quite the dashing figure in my yellow rain outfit? Speaking of figures, I love to eat – my foster mom calls me ‘a bit of a lunch bucket’ and says I’m kind of portly at 80 pounds.
“I came to Safe Harbor after my family could no longer care for me. They taught me to be a good boy and brought out my best. I’m house trained, know my commands, love to be groomed and get along with everyone big and small. You’ll like walking me on the leash and petting my soft-as-silk coat!
I enjoy other dogs, like to help my foster parent’s baby sit the grandkids, curl up quiet as mouse in the bedroom and sleep all night without a peep. My foster mom, who can tell time, says I like to get up at 6:30 AM and am ready to rock and roll – translation: ‘eat breakfast”. They don’t need to put me in a crate when they go out, because I’m happy to sack out wherever they leave me.
My former family told the folks at Safe Harbor I had some trouble with my sight. Their eye specialist discovered I have a painless, untreatable genetic condition called progressive retinal atrophy. My sight is indeed growing dimmer and soon I will be blind. I’d love to see you and my new home soon, before my nose and ears have to take over for me. I caught on to the floor plan in my foster home really fast and am having fun learning some prompts and cues to help me get around like “step up” and “this way”. For us adaptable Labs, life is always an adventure!
I’m just a lovable, good natured young guy, who loves chewing on stuffed animals, going on walks and hanging out with you by my side. Let’s start our new life together as best buddies soon!
