In 9-14-06. UPDATE 11-13-06 Kimmy is up to 98# and still putting on weight and muscle. She is a great lover of children and other dogs. She likes to chase the farm animals, and seems to laugh when they run, but stops immediately when I hollar at her. A HUGE sweetheart of a doggie. She is only a pup herself, right about 13 months old. We rescued her in her last hour from a kill shelter in Spokane, WA. She was heavily pregnant and needed a safe place to go. She was emmaciated, literally a rack of bones with a fur coat. She weighed in at #80 that first day, #12-#14 of it being the 14 pups she was carrying. She whelped on 9-18-06. 9 puppies survived and are currently doing very well. They are also listed her and Kimmy and pups will be available to leave to their new homes around November 20th. Kimmy is a large, protective, intelligent dog. She would make an excellent family dog, you would never have to worry about an intruder or stranger approaching your children or home. She is excellent with children, very tolerant and nurturing. She's very even tempered and watchful. She still bounces and plays like a puppy, and has proven to be a bit much for her tiny pups. She wants to paw and wrestle and she smacks them around like little flies. She seems torn between her duties as a mommy and her want/need to play like a puppy. She is good with chickens, ducks, goats cut really wants to chase the horses. She chases cats, and may cause harm if caught, so a home without might be best.
